Our last Midweek Meander for the year 2026 is happening on Thursday the 29th of October. Guest organiser Tony has done his research and all is set for for a pleasent day out in the Perth Hills.
Meet at Muzz Buzz coffee located within the Caltex service station, 1 Kenneth Rd High Wycombe at 10AM. After coffee we will head off on a drive through the hills to a point of interest followed by a pub lunch. Tony will provide all the details at coffee.
We have chosen this central location to start in the hope that we get people from all over the city. After that, then we take a short Perth Hills trip to Mundaring Weir and then on to the Mundaring Weir village and hotel for lunch.
Total journey length is about 16 km from start location and through some nice wooded county. We will stop at the Weir for a look around and explore its history. After soaking in the fresh air, cool climate and peaceful surrounds we will then jump across to the Mundaring Weir Hotel for lunch. The hotel provides a discounted lunch for seniors. So another budget advantage is provided. There is lots of open parking space opposite the hotel.
The hotel and the village have an interesting history as well that we can explore. Initially the hotel and the village were established as the accommodation for workers and staff that build the weir wall and the first two pumping stations.
