  Hello Mid-Week Meander fans.

  Our April meander is all set to go on Thursday the 24th of April. Our guest organiser is Tony of Club Secretary fame. Below are the details.

  I will create an event and send out the invitations tomorrow. It sounds like a good run, so don't miss the opportunity to exercise your Zed and meet with likeminded people.

    

  Today we start off at the Margaret River Chocolate factory, 5123 West Swan Road, West Swan for morning tea. 10:00am.

  After morning tea, we will head north and west going through vineyard and market garden country all the while heading in the direction of Alkimos and Yanchep.

  We stop at Alkimos Beach to view the site of the wrecked ship, Alkimos, and review the strange history of this 1943 Liberty ship and the unusual deaths that occurred in it before it drifted onto the rocks.

  From there we travel a short distance to Yanchep for lunch at the Sun City Golf Club.

  Return home via Marmion Ave, Wanneroo Rd or the Tonkin Hwy.

  It's on again !!

  The Northam Motorsport Festival is a free classic car event for all ages. The main streets of Northam are transformed into a circuit with classic racing cars competing in regular time trials.

  Saturday, 26th April : Hill Climb at Mt Ommanney

  Sunday, 27th April : Flying Fifty regularity event around the streets of the town.

  There will be plenty to do:
  Watch the action of the Northam Flying Fifty “round-the-houses.”
  Plenty of food vans, coffee vans, cafes nearby
  Wander around town, walk through the pits to see competing cars.
  Sit in the shade by the Avon River
  Mix with other car enthusiasts and look at their cars.
  Shannons will also be presenting awards for the best club displays and best cars (as judged by the VSCC). 

  We have been invited to show our cars.  Please email president@wazregister.com if you intend to show your car.

  The Z register will have several members running cars in the races on Sunday and in the Hill climb on Saturday.

  Collie Sprint

  This event is organised by the HSV Owners Club of WA.

  Please note the following with regard to registering:

  •      It is up to Z Register members to enter via the HSV website.
    

  •         Members have to be a member of the HSV club to enter listed events. Z Register members can join the HSV club as Motorsport Partner Club Members, there is no cost for this category of membership in the HSV club.
    

  •         The HSV club website has all details for car eligibility competition licence requirements etc.
    

  •         Peter Hall and Chris Bothams will assist any member with advice on how to best meet vehicle and entry requirements.

  •    You can register your intentions on our website but you must also register for the event on the HSV Owners website at:

  Some more details:

  This is HSV's first venture down the highway to sunny Collie Motorplex. Entries are now open, all details are on the club website. Most competitors camp at the track Saturday so feel free to bring your swag and come have some fun before a big day on track Sunday. All camping facilities are onsite & included in the entry fee
  
  Ensure that your registration includes ALL sections and details filled out as required including the online Scrutineering form. Only targeted scutineering will take place at the track. MAKE SURE YOUR LICENSE DETAILS ARE CORRECT AND CURRENT.

• Aquinas Schola Car Show

  Just turn up and enjoy.

  All proceeds to the Schola Music program. Their fundraising events support families with demonstrated financial need with the cost of music tours. Last year they supported 9 families.

  In addition to the usual wide variety of cars on show, this year there will be a couple of special displays. The organisers will be collaborating with the Jaguar Club of WA for their annual display day (where there will be over 100 Jaguars on display) and they will also have a special Ford v Ferrari display, with the 308 Ferrari and GT40 Ford featured on the image above being on display together.
  

  Car entry is from 7:45 until 9:00 am.

  Car entry fee is $10. However if the club gets some interest we can register our intent with them and get free access.
  

  Sausage sizzle, coffee, cake stall, ice cream on site.
