Mid Week Meander – 31 October 2024
Well it’s the last meander for the year, so let’s make it something special.
Howard Solomon Residential Care is a facility which provides support and services to a range of residents of various age groups. Within these groups are residents who, among other things, have an interest in motor vehicles which may stem from a mechanical repair background or simply a love of classic cars.
Rather than our normal starting point being a café for coffee, we will be joining a number of the residents at Howard Solomon for morning tea and a chat about our z’s. If some are keen, we may even be able to entice them to jump in and go for a short run, but most will probably just be happy to check the cars out and have a chat.
Howard Solomon is located at 91 Hybanthus Rd in Ferndale. There will be a marked off area in the grassed section at the front of the building and for most of the cars, particularly those with low suspension, the best entry will be via the driveway at the western end, entering the grassed area via the footpath.
After morning tea and a chat, we’ll head off to the hills, this time to Core Cider in Pickering Brook. We’ve been there before, but the pizzas are great, and the beer and cider is cold. If that doesn’t take you fancy, there are plenty of other food and drink options.
So, let’s finish the year off by bringing a smile to a senior’s face and rounding that out with a pleasant drive, a nice lunch, a coldie. See you there.
